Now that we no longer require user accounts on our website we’ve had to rethink how we deliver the results from our Speed Dating events.
It used to be that you’d log in after the event and the results would be in front of you. We’ve decided instead to simply send emails to all attendees the morning after an event, with the results. If you got any matches at the event the details of the people you were matched with will be in that email.
What details are passed on?
The details of the your matches will depend on what information they have chosen to pass on, as indicated on their date card. Everyone has the option to pass on their mobile number and/or their email address by checking at least one of the boxes at the top of the date card (as shown below).
You will also get the person’s first name and the first letter of their surname as well as the badge number they had for the event.
What if I’m matched with someone I didn’t tick?
Occasionally we’ll send out event results and someone will realise that they’ve made a mistake on their date card and put a tick next to the name of someone they didn’t mean to. If that (wrong) person has put a tick next to your name on their date card that will obviously result in a match. If you realise you’ve made a mistake before we’ve sent the emails out we can alter the results and your information won’t be passed on to people you don’t want to be passed to. If, however you only realise your mistake after receiving the email the only thing we can do is email the person you were matched with and inform them that there was a mistake. We will ask them not to contact you but we cannot offer any guarantees as they would have already received your information. This is why we ask people to make sure they’re happy with their date card before handing them in at the end of each event.
When do we receive the results?
Once the event has finished we’ll collect everyone’s date cards up and tally the results, usually that night. We allow a little time for errors to be corrected and occasionally it’s hard for us to decipher some date cards so we’ll have to contact some people. We’ll usually email everyone that attended the event between 9am and 10am the following morning. On some very rare occasions it might take up to 24 hours before you get the results but so far this has only ever happened once.
What happens now?
Now it’s up to you! If you’ve received any matches you’ll have to decide when and how to get in touch with them about meeting up for a date that will hopefully last longer than five minutes.
If you didn’t receive any matches from the event don’t take it to heart. It’s very rare that we’ll get a date card back that has received zero ticks. It’s just that the ticks aren’t from the people that you’ve ticked. Although we’re know that’s not very helpful to you we have heard from people asking why no one had ticked them and it’s just not the case.
